Warning Signs in Pregnancy
NOTE: Excludes obstetric warning signs - contact your Dr should you experience decreased foetal movements, or fluid loss from the vagina
Pain is cause for concern. It is your body’s way of telling you that all is not well.
| Pain with movement: |
rolling in bed |
| |
in/out of bed/car/bath |
| |
getting dressed |
| |
walking |
| |
climbing stairs |
Pain with sustained positions: |
driving |
| |
breastfeeding (obviously a post-natal problem…) |
| |
sitting at a desk (especially at a computer) |
| |
sitting on the couch |
| |
carrying siblings (the Heavy Toddler) |
Stiffness is also of concern, and may point to an underlying instability.
Pins and needles, especially if on both sides of the body. And if accompanied by loss of bladder and bowel function, seek medical advice IMMEDIATELY.
Loss of sensation may endanger the area; if you can't feel, how do you what to do (move, shift weight to allow blood back to the area, get away from the heat-source etc)
Many other symptoms exist, including decreased foetal movements, and fluid loss from the vagina. If in doubt, contact your doctor or midwife and describe your symptoms.
